About Me
Background
My name is Richard Wu and I'm a web-developer based in New York City. I love playing with fancy gadgets and toys and figuring out how they work. I've been this way since I was young and now I'm fascinated with how the web works.
Years back, I was first exposed to the social power of the internet when I, along with many others, started playing World of Warcraft. It was my first foray into the world of graphically-augmented online communications. I realized then that in a fully immersive environment where all the user's senses are engaged - sight, sound, feel - the user is allowed to lose themselves. With this realization, I embarked on a journey to learn what it takes to create a fully immersive multimedia experience.
With that, I landed upon web development as a canvas on which to create products. I'm very excited to learn where the web takes us next.
Hobbies
I still enjoy playing the occasional fighting game or MOBA to exercise my dexterity, a racing game to get my blood pumping, but I prefer to play an RPG and immerse myself in a different world.
Other than games, I also like to play basketball, lift weights, and am now in the process of learning to create animations and produce video content.
