My personal design philosophy is one of familiarity. The key to a positive user experience is creating the idea in the user that they have used something like my product before; and that they know what they can do with my product because of it. Familiar imagery, universally accepted and recognized iconography, and clear, concise, written descriptions are employed in my projects to express to the user that there are no wrong ways to use my product.
